About
What is Danish Pastel?
Danish Pastel is a design aesthetic rooted in Scandinavian minimalism and hygge principles. It emphasizes muted tones, clean layouts, and functional simplicity. The color palette draws from natural materials—dusty rose, sage green, warm clay, and soft mauve—creating interfaces that feel calm and approachable without sacrificing clarity.
Core Characteristics
- Muted pastels: Dusty rose, sage, mauve, clay, powder tones
- Subtle borders: 1px borders with minimal contrast
- Soft shadows: Gentle blur effects (4-6px) with low opacity
- Natural spacing: Generous whitespace, breathing room
- Minimalist approach: Clean, functional, no unnecessary ornamentation
